Over 2000 solar panels installed at Farnborough International

As a global leader in hosting premier aerospace and business events, Farnborough International sought to enhance its environmental sustainability while reducing operational energy costs. Their original 100kW solar energy system was insufficient to meet the growing demands of their 20,000-square-meter convention centre. To align with their commitment to achieving net zero, Farnborough International needed a significant upgrade to their solar infrastructure.

Farnborough International undertook a large-scale solar energy transformation, implementing state-of-the-art SolarEdge technology. The project involved the installation of 2,174 additional solar panels, bringing the total count to 2,551. Their new system features:

1,134kW capacity – a substantial increase from the previous 100kW system.

9 SolarEdge inverters – ensuring efficient energy conversion.

1,276 SolarEdge optimisers – maximizing performance and monitoring capabilities.

This ambitious solar installation has significantly advanced Farnborough International’s sustainability goals, delivering measurable environmental and financial benefits, including a reduction in over 518,000 kg of CO2 emissions each year, a significant step toward net zero.
